Our History

The elevator stands as a unique icon within its surroundings, boasting a singular status unmatched by any other in the area. Throughout its history, it has remained nestled within the confines of family ownership, never falling under the purview of cooperatives or corporate entities. Originally conceived and constructed by the pioneering Moore Family, its legacy was later entrusted to the stewardship of the Teague family, marking the passing of a rich heritage from one lineage to another. Renamed as the Hamlin Elevator upon its acquisition in the early spring of 2023, this architectural marvel has stood the test of time since its inception in 1947, with an expansion in 1954 to accommodate its growing significance. With a formidable capacity of 1,416,000 bushels, it serves as a vital hub for the storage of grain, embodying a legacy of resilience and tradition that resonates through the generations.
